Royal Tea Party 2020

Thank you to ALL who tuned in to our Virtual Royal Tea Party livestream on Sunday! And to all of our supporters for their generous bids on our auction items, to all those who donated auction items, those who made monetary donations, and those who volunteered their time to make this fundraiser so successful!

Because of you, we've been able to raise $16,083 (updated 10/6/20) for our programs for children in foster care! That's so amazing! It costs us $40,000 to take our campers and volunteers away for a week of summer camp and this is such a great start toward our final goal! Thank you!!!!

* Registration: is required to make donations, purchases or bid on any silent auction item, but don't worry- it's quick and easy. Just click the link at the top to register. Once registered, you'll receive a link via text or email. Click it to be automatically logged into the site and access your own personal bidding center. Do not share that link, as it is connected to your personal account (and your credit card, if already entered). The link to share to invite others to participate is: www.RoyalTea2020.GiveSmart.com.

* Categories: When viewing our auction item listing, click the "Categories" button at the top of the list to filter for your specific interests.

* Duplicate Items: We have multiples of some items and each is listed as a separate auction item. It is noted in the item description if there are more of that type of item. The extras of all items can be found at the end of our auction item list (item #240 and above). So even if someone already purchased an item you were watching (using the "Buy Now" option), you may still have a chance to win the others.

* Silent Auction Purchases: After the auction closes at midnight on Tuesday, 9/29, bidding on all silent auction items will close and you may then follow the steps in the video below to checkout. Please remember to add the applicable "Shipping" item(s) to your cart, if you require your item(s) be shipped to you. Shipping Items are found at the end of the Items listing on this site and will still  be available to add to your cart.

* Instant Buy Items: Items that will remain available to purchase, even after the auction closes include: re-usable totes (Item 100), face masks (Item 101), shipping and any silent auction items that were not bid on will become available for instant purchase at their minimum bid. These may be added to your cart before checking out.

Royal Tea Party Guests & Volunteers -

As with many beloved events this year, our planning team has had to make the decision to cancel the in-person aspects of our Royal Tea Party Fundraiser & Silent Auction for 2020. But all is not lost. We're not cancelling all of the fun!

We had originally postponed our event to Sunday, September 27 1:30PM - 3:30PM Pacific Time. We are keeping that day and time and will instead be live streaming our fundraiser event. We invite you and yours to join us from your own tea party at home!
 

PROGRAM DETAILS

Highlights during the first half (1:30PM-2:30PM PT):
* Costumed character vocal performances
* Dance performances by Luminary Dance Academy
* Virtual Fashion Show - text photos to (971) 225-7352 of your little princes and princesses attending from home during the live stream and we'll include them during the broadcast
* Contest for best decorations - Our virtual guests will text photos to (971) 225-7352 of their home tea party decorations throughout the event. Once the event closes, online voting will be open to anyone ($5/vote). Vote for as many entries, as many times as you wish!
* Interviews of Royal Family KIDS - Cowlitz County campers 

Highlights during the second half (2:30PM-3:30PM PT):
* Interviews with Royal Family KIDS volunteers

Royal Tea Party - Event Planning Committee

Our Mission

The mission of Royal Family KIDS is to transform our local community by interrupting cycles of neglect, abuse, and abandonment of children in the foster care system. Too often these children find themselves on paths to academic failure, drug abuse, teen pregnancy, sex trafficking, homelessness, and incarceration. At our summer camps and mentoring programs dedicated to changing the trajectory of these young lives, we strive to plant seeds of hope, happiness, and wholeness. By healing the scars of the past, we hope to come alongside these children and help them blossom into resilient adults with the ability to overcome challenges and be successful and healthy members of our community.

Royal Family KIDS, started in 1985 in southern California, is now the world's leading network of camps and mentoring programs for abused and neglected children. Today, there are over 200 camps in the US and internationally. Our local chapter's first camp was held in the summer of 2018. Campers ages 7-11 enjoy a week of experiences that many of us take for granted, including camping, swimming, nature walks, biking, hiking, having a birthday party with presents, bounce house and carnival, ziplining, or just having a compassionate person to talk to.

Five days of stimulating and STEAM educational activities in an inspiring environment, away from the stresses of life, are designed to reclaim the child within, who has been exposed to abandonment and abuse. Camp promotes fruitful relationships and positive relational, emotional and spiritual experiences that benefit campers not only during the week, but inspire virtues that last a lifetime. 

We are currently recruiting and fundraising to launch Mentor Club in next school year. Sadly, most foster children miss out on mentoring programs. While organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters serve general populations of at-risk kids, they are not designed primarily for foster children. The RFK model is specifically designed to meet the challenges and needs of pre-teen foster children.

Many children in foster care have been exposed to poor role models. Some may self-identify with those who have made unhealthy and/or criminal choices. At camp, we model and introduce them to wise, healthy, legal choices. They are taught they don't have to be defined by their past. It's especially powerful when a former camper returns to camp as an adult volunteer, serving as a positive example of what is possible when they make wise choices.

By investing in their lives at a young age, we hope to help them avoid becoming another statistic.
